Meet the Team
Zipper
Equine Partner
Zipper is a kind-hearted 21-year-old gelding whose gentle nature and steady presence make him a treasured member of the Hope Reins herd. As docile and dependable as any 1,000+ pound partner can be, Zipper brings a sense of calm, safety, and confidence to everyone he meets.
Before joining Hope Reins, Zipper spent many years as a trusted companion to his previous owner, Tracy. Together, they shared countless adventures and accomplishments—from earning buckles and competing in western pleasure events to serving the community as part of the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Posse. No matter the task, Zipper built a reputation as a loyal partner and reliable “go-to” horse, always willing to show up and do his best.
When Tracy recognized that Zipper was ready for a slower pace after a lifetime of adventures, she lovingly entrusted him to Hope Reins. We are honored to continue his story as he now serves as a therapy partner, mentor, and teacher to riders of all ages.
With his patient demeanor and easy-going personality, Zipper has a special gift for helping even the youngest cowgirls and cowboys feel comfortable in the saddle. He quietly teaches lessons in trust, courage, and connection while offering a steady presence that encourages growth and confidence.
Whether he’s carrying a first-time rider, participating in a therapy session, or simply enjoying attention from his many admirers, Zipper embodies the wisdom, kindness, and reliability that come from a life well lived. He’s easy to ride, even easier to love, and a true blessing to our Hope Reins family.
